How Are The Prints Created?
Each print is drawn completely by hand, layer by layer until the whole image comes to life. I use a digital pencil and draw on an iPad, because with two tiny boys at home, my traditional oil paintings are a mess waiting to happen! The print styles are inspired by the infamous art deco, National Park posters and often have less than 10 colors. This creates a flat, yet three dimensional feel that can give off vintage vibes and help viewers connect to the idea of a place. I often begin with either a reference photo, a collage, or a memory of a location, and build up a color palette that feels right.
